Up the Staircase Quarterly to publish 'Piece by Piece'

Pasted Graphic 3
Up the Staircase Quarterly is to publish my flash fiction ‘Piece by Piece’ as part of their August issue Editor’s challenge. They wanted ‘a short fiction piece, written with no more than 250 words that includes the word ‘staircase’...... any subject, any genre, just as long as it is 250 words or less!’ Up the Staircase is another online journal I enjoy reading and I am really excited to find myself in amongst the great writers there. Click out the link for the stories on offer in the latest issue and be sure to check back there when the August issue is published

Metazen to publish 'Baggage.'

My flash fiction ‘Baggage’ has been accepted for publication at metazen, the online literary magazine that publishes surreal and metafictional writing. ‘Baggage’ will appear there on August 16th. On the website the ‘How metazen works’ page describes the kind of story they like:

‘metazen likes odd stories and odd poems, but ones that touch you in a special way’

‘Baggage’ certainly fits both the criteria. In the run up to its publication be sure to check out the other ‘odd’ stories and poems in their archive and posted daily.

My flash fiction ‘What Precise Moment’ has been accepted for the September edition of Eclectic Flash. You can download the free pdf edition of the April issue of this excellent flash fiction journal, buy a print copy and listen to recordings of a selection of the stories here.

The View From Here to publish 'Breaking Distance'

I received confirmation last night that my short story, ‘Breaking Distance,’ is to be published in the June edition of ‘The View From Here.’ Very excited about this as it is the first piece of longer fiction I have managed to find a home for, and its due to see publication around the same time as the arrival of my new baby daughter. Two reasons to be cheerful in June. In the meantime, check out The View From Here website. There is a lot of excellent stuff there.
